I have Yealink T46S and Yealink T23G phones. I have gone into the phones web ui under the DSS tab and configured a button with the following...

Type - Paging
Value - XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX:50001
Label - Page All
Line - N/A
Extension - 0

I basically followed this websites directions....

https://support.onsip.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003672947-Yealink-T22P-Multicast-Paging

I save and reprovision the phone the DSS key will stay and be usable and works. After about 2 days the button reset to being blank (unconfigured). I reconfigured it and the same thing happened about 2-3 weeks later.

Is there a way to stop this from happening or can I configure the phone under the BLF tab in 3cx to be able to do this?

@MrZabudske

Should be 5001 maybe? You've got it set to 50001 according to your post.

You can set up a multicast paging number via Ring Groups.

Then you can try provisioning the keys via the extension's BLF section. You can set your Extension number there for paging as a Custom Speed Dial.

Because you are manually setting the Button in the GUI - it is being overwritten by the 3cx template. To overcome this you need a custom template... or to use a Multicast Extension (Ring Group) that calls the 224 or 239 multicast IP. (no need to xxx it out - we can't touch your multicast system - we would only hit our own)

I am unable to do that because the phone system is at location A and these phones are at location B. The phones can call each other directly using our MPLS. I have tried this before.

What would be better - create a custom template or would disabling the auto provisioning stop this from happening? Where can I find good directions to coping the template the phones currently have and editing it then making sure just these select phones get the template. Thanks.

You also have the option to select the ring strategy of "Paging" instead of "Paging Multicast" so you can avoid doing it all manually. It will work on remote extensions too (including your MPLS because it doesn't rely on multicast) and the only limitation is that you can page a maximum of 64 members. Can this be a better solution for your needs?

This is how it is set up and there is a long delay before we can start paging (the paging group has 80 phones) and not a good solution.

I use a custom Template for Yealink phones and set

auto_provision.custom.protect = 1

The DSS Key Configuration made directly in Yealink Phone stays after reboot or auto-provision.
Maybe that helps You too

I copied the default template and created a new one. I found 2 instances of auto_provision.custom.protect and set both to equal 1. I will let you know if this works as the issue happens to what seems randomly.

Did this work?
Anyone know if this will work on Hot-Desk phones as well?
