Hello,

We have a client that wants to have 10 menu options so my team created the IVR as type "DTMF Input" rather than "Standard".

What we are finding though is that on this menu you cannot dial by extension at all.

Is there any way to have a "DTMF Input" Digital Receptionist also recognize extensions? I couldn't find anything obvious in the interface, and the documentation doesn't really have details that I can find either.

Thanks.

Hello skycomp_serge,

You can enter the extension number under "ID" and choose the same extension number on the "Destination" field.

In this method, you may need to add all extensions.

Otherwise, you can set like below,
  • Create another IVR with a simple prompt (ex: dial the extension number now)
  • Then route the callers to this IVR from the Main IVR(DTMF input) If they want to call the extension directly (ex: If you know the extension number please dial "0")

Ok I was worried about that. So there is no way to do a wildcard in the ID (like 2## direct to the dialed extension)?

I couldn't see anything in the documentation. The documentation actually ways you can dial by extension (https://www.3cx.com/docs/manual/ivr-digital-receptionist/) and I didn't see anything about how the "DTMF Input" changed the behaviour.

Then there was the note about "Valid DTMF Codes or Exit Codes" at the top so I was hoping there would have been some pattern I could put to register calling extensions.

Serge.
