DTMF not recognized external calls

If i call from the outside to the server i cannot use the IVR menu. It seems like that the DTMF tones are not recognized by the Mediaserver. When dialing to an extension which is connected to the 3cx server and press some digits on the phone you can hear them over the speakers. So, the DTMF are send in the voice stream.

When dial internal it works fine but the digits will be send not in the voice stream.

Is there something else we could check?

please let us know the scenario of the incoming call whether its coming from gateway or voip provider to DR of 3CX system.

It is comming from my voip provider to the adsl modem and than to my computer(vista)

Local from my ip phone to the Digital Receptionist its working greet

Mind that some codecs like GSM and G.729 is not lossless codecs, so inband DTMF signal may become unrecognizable. Most systems don't even try to recognize DTMF on GSM stream, we're doing it quite successfully.

3CXMediaServer.trace.log is a key, if you suspect it.

It will be very helpful if you specify your VoIP provider as well as model of your phone

i use X-lite en 3cx voip client on my computer

and a linksys ip phone spa921

The recognition depends on audio quality.
Please provide 3CXMediaServer.trace.log for problematic call. If you can provide capture of network traffic on PBX host for this call (using WireShark) it will be event better.
