Is there some place in 3CX where I can modify the DTMF digit duration pause timer? I'm trying to nail down why from a Mitel phone system of a customer they sometimes are not able to navigate our IVR. Interestingly, on the handsets that it hardly ever works, they connect to the Mitel controller via RJ11; on the handset that works just fine it is an IP phone connected via RJ45. Is it possible the different handsets are sending DTMF in different formats (inband, RFC2833, etc)? Working with their phone provider he suggested I check and see if we could adjust the digit duration timer setting in 3CX but any Mitel guys out there able to answer the first part of my question?

The only time that that digit duration (I assume you mean the length of the DTMF tone), would be if they were being sent inband (as audio). Most electoronic sets that do this, will send a preprogrammed tone duration. Other things, such as the type of Codec (especially low-bit-rate) being used, will affect inband DTMF.

Before making any sort of configuration changes on your PBX to remedy an issue only one specific caller has when contacting you, I'd recommend first checking the traffic between your PBX and your SIP Provider while an affected call is made so that you can check what is actually being received by your 3CX PBX. I would not suggest trying to figure out what the issue is by focusing on the caller side as what is sent by them may be very different to what you actually receive on your 3CX PBX due to changes the traffic is subject to when traversing the different SIP Providers.

Thanks Chris, so some packet captures from my PBX host are in order then. Do you know what I would specifically filter for?
