So I've noticed that some reports have duplicate entries for an extension number.

I understand this is 'by design' and makes sense, for instance if you assigned an extension number to someone new you'd want it splitting out in the data correctly among those two users (old and new). I believe it's triggered by updating the name on an extension number.

(I've included a screenshot that another user has previously posted of this behaviour).

OK, great, all good and agree with above as a good way of the data being kept valid.

However, my question is, when/how moving forwards does this historical data get dropped ref the old owner of an extension, i.e. how do you stop this data not appearing on reports anymore? I would have imagined if your chosen data range did not include a time period before the data on the extension was changed then the old extension details wouldn't be displayed.

Any idea's, am I missing something or is this a tiny bug?

Dave.

Hi @David Forster,

You're right, this isn't a bug and is meant to work this way. If you recycle an extension you'd want to be able to differentiate the calls between the two extensions.

If you set the report to run from the first day the new extension was used, you shouldn't see this data anymore. For example, I changed the extension name 3 days ago, and I ran my report for the last 24hrs and the old extension didn't show. However running it for a week, it did show.

Thanks @VasilisV_3CX

I thought that was the case, however that's not the experience I'm getting for reports. The old extensions remain on the report even though the date covered no longer includes a period covered by the reporting date. I had wondered if this was due to them being scheduled reports but I've tried a one off report covering today only and still shows the 'pre change' extensions from some weeks ago. This is specifically the extension stats report this is happening on and does the same across all our customer base, all running 16.0.9 . These are all old installs that have been updated over a few years as opposed to fresh installs. Any additional ideas? Any suggestions where to start digging to see why these still show up?

Hi @David Forster,

I had followed up with this and we will try to have this rectified in V18.

Hi @VasilisV_3CX

OK, great, so this is a known 'issue' ?

If that's the case then super, at least I know I've not missed anything, will leave it with you guys.

Thanks for confirming.

Cheers, Dave.

Hi @David Forster,

Yes, upon further investigation and seeing the duplicate names (not changes to the names) and further testing, it was linked to a known issue being investigated currently.

If you require any further assistance, feel free to open a new thread!
