Hi all,

As the Dutch people on this forum undoubtably know The Netherlands is the only country in the world where a single vendor (Lydis) is providing specific firmware for that language.
We find that annoying for a few reasons:
- Provisioning behind a restrictive corporate firewall is a problem (Lydis). The Lydis url may not be available on that VLAN (we have the problem at a custom atm!)
- Pricing is very noncompetitive. Especially within Europe ordering outside NL is a lot cheaper even incl. transport costs.
- Whenever there is a single vendor for something we have continuity questions. What if Lydis decides to stop providing firmwares or goes bankrupt or even something as simple as an outage.
- At the moment of writing the Yealink firmware is at version 28.83.0.130 and the NL version it at 28.83.188.9. It seems the NL firmware is behind in releasing. We feel uncomfortable to have devices with potential security leaks on any network.

Because of this we at CloudAware have started creating a github repository https://github.com/trideeindhoven/yealink-languages with out own translations. Feel free to use these translations for free for whatever reason you feel is important. It is work in progress and focus at this moment is on the T48S, but expect more devices in the future. The next one is the T41S btw.
If some of you once in a while can create a pull request, that would be fantastic.

Hi all,

In the past months the translations have been updated and we now have 96-98% translations of all strings for the following models:
- Yealink T41S
- Yealink T46S
- Yealink T46G
- Yealink T48S
- Yealink CP860

We are now running our own translationfiles in production. If you have any questions, please let me know. You can download the languagefiles from:
https://github.com/trideeindhoven/yealink-languages

Because translations for "Back" e.g. are pretty much the same for all Yealink phones, we can generate a translation for pretty much any Yealink phone now. If you have any requests, let me know and i will generate the translation and commit it to github.

Also: the translation software we have made now can also translate other languages so if you want to help out to e.g. make a Friesian translation, let me know and i will get you started on the translation database.

A little update: this project just went from a really nice to have to a critical project for us. Using the latest certified firmware from Lydis we are unable to forward calls! Using the latest international firmware everything seems to work fine.
In the packettraces we can see "603 Declined" messages coming from the Yealink phones. This looks like a serious bug. Using our github repository we were able to give our customers a proper solution. This is exactly why we maintain this repository! I am fine with Lydis maintaining a languagepack. I am even fine if that languagepack is encrypted and i also understand that making a languagepack is not free (trust me! I made one myself now!). But leaving an entire country country stuck with older firmware is just not acceptable!
