Hi,

At our company we use 3CX since a couple of months for about 1500 users.
We really like the product, but there are some basic features of which I'm surprised that they aren't possible.

For example: is there a way to edit the office hours for multiple inbound rules at once?
Or preconfigure multiple office hour schemes which can be applied to inbound rules? (I don't have the permissions yet to post in the "Ideas" section of the forums)

This is the situation: We have about 80 shops of which the opening hours have changed because of the Corona pandemic.
But having to edit 80 inbound rules (because 80 different DID's) is a job that takes a lot of time.
I have to edit each rule separately, delete all the office hours that are configured now for each day, and configure new ones for each day.

I was thinking of using a dummy extension and apply office hours to it, so I could transfer from the inbound rule to the dummy extension first.
But the problem there, is that our shops use a call flow that I designed with the Call Flow Designer, and forwarding to a call flow app isn't possible from an extension.

What would be the fastest way to change the office hours for our 80 shops?
Because I can't imagine that editing each inbound rule one by one would be the only way?
Thank you.

Best regards,

Daan

Do all 80 shops use the same office hours? If so, i would modify the global office hours from the settings page.

Thank you for the reply. They do have the same office hours for now, but that's temporary due to the pandemic. Generally, the opening hours may differ 30-60 minutes per shop (one opens/closes sooner than another).
There's also about 50 showrooms and 20 call centers, again with different hours.
If I modify the global office hours, that could work for the shops, but not for the showrooms or call centers.

So it's certainly a good suggestion, but I can't use it for all cases.
(also, congrats with your 1000th message!)

Thanks! Didnt even notice.

Could you not modify your CFD to go to the dummy EXT first then modify them to go to an IVR when set to away?

Hmmm that's a good way of thinking.
Although in the CFD, when for example choosing option 1 in the IVR, it's transferring to the shop itself based on the DID that was entered. All shops are using the same call flow app, and a .csv file is being used to determine which DID has to transfer to which call queue, so the call flow "knows" to which call queue it has to transfer based on the DID that was called. So I can't do that with the dummy extension.
Brain teaser...

As you probably sure now the only way offered to you is to change settings manually.
I know this is painfull, but 3cx not so often increase its background with lots of improvment in console hoped for a while, yours is in the list .

if you need to do this take a backup before making change , if after Covid you need to reuse previous hours then restore backup. otherwise second pain party in perspective.

Ok, thank you for the input! I'm changing them manually as we speak, no worries.
But I felt like asking if another possibility was available wouldn't hurt. :)
It's good to hear that my request is in the list already, we'll see when it's released!

The backup idea is a good idea, though.
Is it possible to restore only the inbound rules and nothing else, when restoring from a backup file?
I've never had to restore a backup (luckily) so I'm not familiar with that yet.
Thank you!

Having 80 rules to edit is like lines at school, when i said your problem is on the list, well i just wanted to say, this is something 3CX should improve, but for now there is no certitude they will release it in future.

When you restore this is the complete pbx you restore not only some specific parts this can be done from console , nearly like an update apply.

Seems like a bad idea - because you will lose voicemails, recordings, call history, etc made from the time of that backup until restoration date.

If so , then for sure my ideas is not an help :(

Are you sure Craig , if you backup without vm, and recordings (even in case recordings are stored out of pbx ?) you loose everything?

I've done it manually by now, fingers crossed that this feature will be implemented in the (near) future.
Thank you all for the input!
