Why don't 3CX create an optionally installed micro service architecture web server on the local PC to do a limited set of things that can't be done from inside the Web Browser Sandbox? If micro service architecture web server is not installed, then that feature is disabled.

I've seen this implemented by both Dell and Intel to scan the system for device and driver details whereby the queried data can be returned to the web browser. I've also seen this done for a USB signature pad.

Development time. They would need a tool per OS, and if the browser tech changes, they're screwed again (these things often change, just check how Chrome apps have disappeared.)

That is defiantly a concern -- software makers change their mind all the time and so makers of Browsers and OSen always make breaking changes that we developers have to deal with it. I think you simply have to put a stake in the ground then make something happen.

Right now, we have features disjointed between the Console and Web Client Portals, OG Desktop vs Electron Apps. It seems to me someone needs to look from a 10,000 foot view and make a clear roadmap.

Thus far I can't see why we need two Portal -- Console and Web Client -- they should just be unified. I use SmarterMail and I think they got it right. You have main menu items that are not presented when you are not an "admin". One development effort, one framework then more effective the dev effort...

That's their plan, 1 portal.

Will take time to migrate services from MC to WA (Web Admin)

You got to rip the band-aid off. This hurts having two portals... How do you explain this to the casual end-user admin?

"Hi User,
Much like your company didn't start in 1 day and took time to grow to where it is today, 3CX is currently growing. For now you'll have to use 2 portals but 3CX is committed to consolidating them. I'll provide updates as I get them as to the status."

"Oh, 2 portals doesn't work for you? No worries, lets choose a software that does work for you"
