I have a campus with multiple buildings and buildings with multiple floors. I would like to have the IP address to appear in the Emergency Notification Email when someone dials 911 or other Emergency Number. This would allow our on-campus PD to know if the if the caller is on or off campus, using WiFi (roaming on campus/ mobile device) or if the call is coming from a fixed desk phone location, Hotdesk, etc. Our LAN is set-up by building/floor to IDFs using unique DHCP ranges for each IDF. The IP address would be very valuable for the caller location.

I encourage you to take a look at our 3CX Emergency Notifier tool. We now monitor the IP address of phones (physical and soft-phones) and update the location of the extension based on IP address.

You create groups in 3CX for each location, then you assign IP addresses to the group. We monitor registration events and update the user's group membership based on their IP address. When the user dials an emergency number, 3CX looks at their group membership and sends the appropriate CID.

In our notifications (phone via text-to-speech, email, SMS text, and desktop alert), we already include the caller's building, floor, pillar, cubicle. We could probably add IP address, but that might be redundant :)

Actually adding IP would be a great feature add. With a high volume of remote workers during the pandemic we need to know if the call is from on-campus or off-campus, the IP address would give us that info. Also, based on the IP range we would know were the call is originating from on-campus. This would be helpful for someone using the 3CX-app on their phone or laptop.

So let it be written, so let it be done.

Thank you Cecil B. DeMille (Matthew). Your modification will need an IP look-up table by address range so each IDF/ switch or building VLAN could be identified. This could be a static list with the ranges. The ranges would also include VPN pool, APs, etc.

Thanks.

Already done. You can add subnet ranges or individual IP addresses. The only thing we don't currently do is add the phone's IP address to the notifications. I've asked the development team to add this feature too.
