We have a Ring Group set to send a page in case of an emergency, created in 2018. It works fine, but we have fewer people with desk phones now. Is it possible to send this to the desktop app instead of an IP phone? Or is there a better way instead of paging?

Thanks.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to page webclients or mobile clients for that matter—only IP Phones auto-answer intercom and page requests.

You can choose another notification type, such as chat or even email to send the notifications to when emergency calls are made.

Could we possibly send an email and a page? Either way, can you point me to the email notification setup instructions? I can't find that.

Thanks for the reply.

You can choose multiple notifications from under the management console > settings > general > Emergency Numbers section > Notifications tab.

I think I see. We only have 911 under emergency numbers. The 'emergency' call I am referring to is an 'Assist the receptionist' alert to people in the office who can quickly come to the front door when dealing with issues that are not at the level of needing outside assistance. Can I add a ring group to Emergency Numbers? It looks like that is only for external? Or can I leave the external blank?

You could make a fake loopback trunk and send it there.

Honestly, a CFD would be the solution here instead.

EDIT: Fixed lookback to loopback.

OK. I will check out the CFD option. Thanks for everyone's input.
