Hi,

Sometimes when I enter a conference ID to join a conference from the softphone the incorrect ID is passed to the conference, it appears that sometimes an extra digit is passed that has not been entered. This seems to happen mostly with Webex but the issue has been reported with other services also.

Is there a way to log what the system is passing on?

Thanks,

This can be a bit tricky.

What happens most of the times with DTMF-related problems is that the caller has their phone on Speakerphone while punching in the DTMF keys. What happens is that the phone sends the DTMF tones in RFC2833 (VoIP way of sending DTMF tones) but at the same time, because each key press produces a sound, the same tone is echoed out the speaker and in through the microphone again so the tone is sent a 2nd time but this time in-band (analogue way of sending DTMF tones).

The 3CX Phone System does not keep track as far as I remember for DTMF tones sent to external numbers, but as general advice always pickup the handset when inputting DTMF tones in an IVR menu.

Thanks Nick, it tends to be the softphones that have this issue and given that the headsets are very sensitive this makes sense!
