Hi.

In Reporting -> Recordings I have a list of all recordings, but when I try to download any of them I get 404 error message.
Where I can find those records?

Thanks.

If you get a 404 it means the recording files do not exist or are inaccessible.

Did you recently make any changes such as move recordings to a new location, archive them, migrate the PBX ,etc?

Also, what OS are you running, I'd recommend checking if the files exist or not.

Default recording locations are:

Windows
C:\ProgramData\3CX\Instance1\Data\Recordings

Linux
/var/lib/3cxpbx/Instance1/Data/Recordings

OS Debian GNU/Linux 10 (buster),4.19.0-16-amd64

And yes, the path shows like this /var/lib/3cxpbx/Instance1/Data/Recordings

As I understand our instance is hosted with 3CX.
How can I access that path?

The recording in question from April 12 and past month or two nothing were changed on the server.
Just few phones provisioned but not the extension in question.

If you click Reporting -> Recordings can you see the recordings.

@mailbyweb

I'll PM you for a bit more information on this.

As per our PM conversation, we've confirmed that the instance in question is actually not hosted by 3CX but by another provider. Can you find out which one that is and then gain access to the machine via SSH?

Also, do access the Management Console, go to Recordings, search for that specific recording you're trying to download and check if it is archived. If it is, you'll see that it has a little book on the left:

Yeah, I was under the impression that it was hosted with 3CX.
Trying to find hosing info from our partners.

It doesn't show marked as archived.

If you do gain access, remember to also check the Recordings location because that is the directory you have to check. The recordings directory can be seen in "3CX MC >> Reporting >> Recordings >> Location"

Also, checking things like:

• is this only affecting specific recordings?
• a specific period?
• recordings of a specific extension?
• does the extension have rights to download the recording?

This info and anything else related will very likely help with investigating this situation.

What this means is that 3CX cannot access the recording. This could be the result of incorrect permissions on an extension folder, or, more likely, that the recording has been deleted. Another possibility is the disk that contains the recording is unreachable by 3CX.

This is resolved.
We got access to where all the recordings are stored.

Thanks all for helping.

Glad to see you managed to sort this out eventually!
