Hello All.

We have a self-hosted 3CX. Generally working fine, but recently on the Windows App we have message popping up with an irregular frequnecy (Maybe once per week), saying: "Failed to execute 'setRemoteDescription' on 'RTCPeerConnection': Failed to parse SessionDescription...

After restarting the App the issue seems solved for a while.

Print-screen is attached.

Best regards and Thx

Serge

You received an incoming call from an endpoint that supports the G.726 codec (like a FXS for example).
The app does not support that codec, hence the error.

That app will be discontinued and will be replaced by our new Windows Store app soon.

Thank you. I have just now uninstalled the previous one and installed the 3CX App from the Windows Store.
Same Computer - Same Plantronics headset, but quality of call is really bad now. What shall I do???

Not sure what may be causing that, but can you check what codec order your system uses?
You might want to push PCMU at the top on both lists here:

Advanced > System > Codecs

These are already my current settings

can you share a screenshot like the example above?

Im getting the same complaints with the windows store app, audio going hard/soft/hard/soft like its fading out.
Switched back to PWA and problem is gone.

Thanks for your feedback. We will look into it

Any updates on this? I can confirm, based on feedback from multiple users, that the new Windows Client (downloaded from the Microsoft Store) exhibits substantial audio quality loss compared to versions V16 or V18.12.425.

As we rely less on our physical phones, the Windows Client has become a crucial tool for us, and audio quality is paramount. Working on a Help Desk throughout the day, you can truly sense the difference between good and poor phone connections by day's end.

I really like the Windows Store version but we had to uninstalled it and, in the meantime, reverted back to V16, as V18 is no longer supported, hoping that the quality issue will be resolved soon.

I genuinely appreciate 3CX and would appreciate your assistance in resolving this matter.

Hi @Serge Dornseiffer
We are working on an upcoming Beta release which should improve audio quality in this case.

Thank you very much. I am volunteer to test the Beta as soon as it is available.

@Serge Dornseiffer we have uploaded a new Beta 6 20.0.346 is live on MS Store.
Please confirm that your issue is resolved

Hello. Thank you very much. We downloaded the new version yesterday and conducted thorough testing.

The quality is perfect now. Unfortunately, we noticed that the beginning of the word is cut off. So, when my colleague is speaking with the new version and says, "Microphone," I will only hear "icrophone." As soon as he takes a break and starts again, this phenomenon will repeat. If he speaks in a continuous sentence, it will not happen in the middle of the sentence.

I hope I was clear with my explanation.

Best regards,

Serge
