I was going through adding BLFs to Yealink T29 phones and suddenly started getting

"An exception was thrown while activating ManagementConsoleJS.Services.Editor."

When selecting an extension or phone. I am not using custom templates at all.

What Browser do you use ? a supported one ?

Yes. I'm using Chrome.

Let me add this:
I factory reset a phone that was already configured to an extension. When it came back up, I tried to assign it's extension to it. Could not do it as it threw an error. So, I deleted the extension and re-imported it off of an extension list I had created a few days ago. I then was able to assign the phone to that newly imported extension.

So you are good now?

We have had this same problem with a customer today bulk editing/adding BLF to T46s, not sure if it was something to do with some empty BLF when bulk editing.

Had to restore from backup or delete extensions to be able to edit BLF.

I've done some rough testing and am not sure if it's related to if any of the BLF fields are left empty - i.e. no dropdown selected as there are some gaps with BLF's in our customers setup due to EXP40.

I redid with assigning with some empty and it seemed to break again, then I tried again with some set to "blank" on the unused ones and it seemed to work after that but I need to do some more testing to see if it was just a one off.

Edit:

I deleted every extension and re-imported off of a list I had downloaded a few days ago (before doing a mass BLF set). I must have left some empty like you. What a disaster!

I'm not 100% sure if that's the exact cause although definitely needs double checking, if I have time I will be testing on a test system I have at our office tomorrow to make sure it's not something related to specific setup at our customer etc.

Hi @Jases Brown

We have a fix coming soon that should address this problem. At the moment I would suggest to contact support and open a case for this.

@JohnS_3CX - we are rolling out to a new location tomorrow and this bug just locked half of our extensions to be able to edit, any update on the fix for this?

Will it fix the bug on the extensions or will we still have to fix the locked extensions. Also how long does it take to run an update, as ours is automatic on Sunday, but need to manually push this one out?

It should address the issue and allow you to edit your extensions normally after you apply it.

The update does not take too long, if its relatively fast hardware it should take under 10 mins.

No normally you can push it automaticly, but even if not it takes few minutes to apply

Does it take down the phone system while upgrading?

Does it take down the phone system while upgrading?

Yes it does, as it needs to stop the services to upgrade the files

You could change the auto update schedule , to update it tonight out of hours instead of Sunday. Then change the schedule back to sunday

Perfect thanks to everyone, we are going to push out in an hour over the lunch period and hopefully get access to these extensions again to provision and send welcome emails. This was a bump in the road we didn't expect. It's awesome that it was patched so quickly. Thanks 3cx.

FYI, to "manually fix this" aside from nuclear option, if you log into the persons extension from their client, and remove the extra BLF fields off their profile, it unlocks the account. However, when I have close to 50 to do, that isn't happening.

My personnal choice, I prefer doing update at night but on working days almost if something turns bad and need action to be done after update is applyied I have everyone available. Not the case on weekends
