Hi there,

Is there a way to exclude the contacts from the CRM system that have been added to 3CX from the phones? Otherwise the device phonebooks would get too messy.

If not, is it possible to avoid to the contact creation in 3cx completely and just match the number very time someone calls again?

Thank you in advance for your answers!

Unfortunately none of these is possible. The phones will get all the numbers from the global phonebook, and CRM contacts are part of them. And the contact synchronization is a key part of the integration, and can't be disabled.

I agree with your request as having agents in your CRM means that most of the times each agent is assigned only specific leads and is not allowed to see others' leads.
I had same issue until I had someone to create me a script to delete CRM contacts every minute, minimizing the risk of sharing contacts between agents, especially when phone book was synced on my phones and it was filling with CRM contacts.

Thank you for your answer. May be this is something to consider - nonetheless I think 3cx should work on this.

We have around 10000 customer contacts in our database. It would be a GDPR nightmare to have all those contacts in all the phones in the production not even to think of the meetings rooms and everywhere in the company. I really think that you should work on this!

Another question would be - may be an alternative - we export a csv from our csv and import it in the personal phone book. Is there a way to match already imported contacts? Currently all the contacts will imported again and again.

Personal contacts are not CRM contacts. This means that if you add them as personal contacts, you will see the caller name, but you will not get the popup.

Personal contacts are not CRM contacts.
I know, but as the CRM functionality is not well implemented I know want to let people import their crm contacts in the personal phonebook. They export a csv file form our system in the required form, however when I import the file all the contacts are imported without any duplicate checkin to see whether the contact already exists. Is this the desired behaviour?

Yes, the import functionality doesn't check for duplicates. You might want to remove all contacts first, and then add them from scratch.
