We have a situation where there is a client has 2 different businesses operating out of the one 3CX instance. The trunk routes calls to the hunt ring group for the main business 'business 1', and there is a DID for 'business 2' that goes a hunt ring group for that business. There is a problem where 'business 1' does training for a few hours and puts their phones on night switch, which results in both 'business 1' and 'business 2' diverting to out-of-office. Is there some solution to separate these two businesses so that 'business 1' can press a button to have their calls go to out-of-office/busy but 'business 2' can still receive calls whilst this is happening?

You can choose setup specific office hours on the inbound rule. It is under the routing options.

Just to clarify; we still wish to have the same office hours for 'business 2' , we just don't want the night switch affecting 'business 2', or to come up with some way to put 'business 1' in out of office/busy without affecting 'business 2'.

Hi @itjungle,

I'd suggest doing this via Dummy / Routing Extensions. Simply:

  1. Create 2 Dummy / Routing Extensions. One for each DID.
  2. Set the Forwarding of their Available Status to the same location(s) as the current DID rules are pointing to.
  3. Set the Forwarding of their Away Status to Voicemail or where ever you'd like it to go when you're training.
  4. Control training times manually by changing the status of the Dummy Extension to Away from Available, remember to revert back to Available when finished.
In essence you are placing a routing extension above the DID rule you've created as a manual control switch.
