Hi!
I've noticed there is no FAX service in management console? However, service is visible and started from Microsoft Management Console.
Maybe updater should delete this service and file?

If you have upgraded to SP4 the service should be visible but not started. If you install with latest SP4 installer then the service should not be visible.
Yes there is no dedicated fax service anymore in SP4

Is there anyway we can uninstall SP4 then?

Sorry for confusion. Fax server is only merged to another service.

Thanks. I see that startup type is still automatic on upgraded system.:confused:

So on an updated system (SP4) does the Fax service need to stay as disabled under Microsoft services?

Yes, the service will remain but it will be disabled

Maybe this "remnant" service should use another extension?
Code:
Error! Couldn't send registration for '888' extension.

@Sopock
Where do you get this error?
Is your service still running after you upgraded to SP4?

Yes, I'm sure it will try to register on every (rare) reboot.
I understand that FAXServer.log is not longer relevant, but it might useful for troubleshooting of any component if it can be started from admin command prompt. Global debug logging will also increase size of ManagementConsole.log without creating new file?

You should disable the fax service if it is still running and set it to manual so it doesn't try to register. Also the fax server logs are included in the 3CXIVR.log. This will keep logs for as many days as you have it set in the logging service
