Export 5 Years of Internal Chat History

Is there a way to export internal chat history from 3CX for the past 5 years? We need it for record-keeping. Any method (GUI, API, or database) .

Hi,

You can go to Admin>System>Storage, Configure remote storage and move the Chat Files to archive. Note that the remote location needs to be online and accessible for the system to be able to access the chats and show them properly. From this remote location you can also further copy them to a proper "offline" archive.

Could you please provide more details on this? As far as I know, the archived chat is encrypted. How can we view these chats offline in Excel?

Hello Sajjad.Khurshid,

In the backup file of the 3CX, you will be able to find the directory "ChatFiles", the files here are not encrypted.
The files you will find here, are the send foto's and other attachemnets from the chat.
Try to add .jpg to a filename, and you will get an picture that has been send by the chat.

The chat (text), can be found in the database, in the folder "DbTables", here are several files starting with 'chat_'.
This will contain all the data needed, however it is not in xls or csv format, but in database format.
If you can work with databases, this could this be a starting point for you?
