WebRTC is becoming the preferred technology for modern AI voice services due to its low latency, real‑time audio streaming, and cloud‑native security model.
These characteristics make it particularly suitable for AI voicebots and MCP‑based conversational platforms.

In 3CX V20, WebRTC is currently limited to the official 3CX Web Client, which prevents direct WebRTC‑based integration with AI voice services. As a result, AI scenarios must rely on SIP trunks or external gateways, adding complexity.

A controlled and secure WebRTC integration option (e.g. service/bot endpoints, scoped media access, or a WebRTC gateway API) could enable advanced AI voice use cases while preserving 3CX’s security and architecture.

This would further strengthen 3CX’s position as an AI‑ready PBX platform and open new integration opportunities for partners and enterprise customers.
