Hi Members,

I am setting up a basic 3cx and am forwarding calls to an external number after 10 seconds.
This only appears to work if i have "accounce caller (rebound) enabled. If i don't have it enabled when the system goes to fwd the call to mobile it just hangs up. Is this right?

Ideally the forwards wouldnt be announced when forwarding......

Any advice much appreciated.

Thx

voip or isdn/analog gateway?
is there a proper outbound rule to handle the outbound call?
any information in the log files?

voip
i have basic outbound rules to handle calls. there may be some issue here though.
if i dial numbers direct from the handset the work fine.
if i forward to certain numbers they seem to have an issue. some work some don.t
i get errors on the trunks "unauthorised from ip" "does not exist anywhere" but like i said if i dial these numbers directly there go through. i have the outbound rules attached.
any ideas?

how many digits in the external number?
does it match any rule? (your rules overlap)

those messages seem to indicate this.

what exactly are the logs showing? goto the activity log, start a capture, make the problem call, stop the capture. open the capture in wireshark and look for the "Sip Flows" menu item.

external numbers are landlines or mobiles.
sip flow show state = REJECTED INVITE 604 for 1 SIP trunk and REJECTED INVITE 401 401 for the other. i can't see much if i drill down into wireshark but not really sure what i am looking for.

Hello @richo81

Forwarded calls should not be any different than direct calls at least as the provider is concerned.
Try a normal call while running wireshark and compare the Invite message to the provider with the one that has been forwarded.
First thing to check is if the call is actually going to the provider. Are they rejecting the call?
Then check the if there is any difference in the Invite format.

If you compare a 3CX activity Log of a forwarded call (not working) , and a call from the same extension, dialling, the same number, you can see what is being sent to the provider in both cases. It should be the same.

the issue here was because i was forwarding between different sip trunks from different providers. as soon as i added an additional line to one of the trunks the forwarding works as expected.

Glad to see the issue has been resolved and thank you for updating the thread with your solution
