Good Day,
I need some assistance with setting up direct inward dialing for an extension.
I have an extension 5000 and added a DID line to it with an assigned telephone number but I cannot receive calls to this number. When I dial the number I get a message 'Call Forbidden by Administrator'.
See event log message below:
SIP Server/Call Manager ID: 12294
Call or Registration to 087XXXXXXX@(Ln.10000@Dataphone) has failed. xx.xx.xxx.xx replied: 403 Auth Failed; from IP:xx.xx.xxx.xx:5060
Any thoughts?
Thanks

Hello @Anees Cloete

Can you receive calls from the trunk if you choose a different extension? Do you see the trunk as registered under the SIP trunks tab?
Check the IP blacklist of the system and make sure that the providers IP is not listed there.

Check the IP blacklist of the system and make sure that the providers IP is not listed there.

I can receive calls on the trunk and when I assign a DID to another extension it goes directly to a voice prompt to leave a voice message. No direct incoming call from outside to a specific extension.

I only have one trunk with 4 concurrent calls so i guess it is only allowing me to receive calls on the main number and not on additional DID's

If the calls are hitting the system then you should be able to assign DIDs to extensions using the Inbound rules. Check the Activity log of the PBX and look for the number format the provider is using to send called number. Then adjust your DIDs to match that number format.
You can also use wildcards for your DIDs in order to help the PBX match the number with the DID.
If for example your DID is 0123456789 you can make it *456789. This will force the PBX to only try to match the last 6 digits.
Also make sure that your extensions are registered and can receive calls. Try a call between extensions.

Thanks for the update @YiannisH_3CX but I am still having some issues unless I am doing something.
The pic below shows my main trunk DID and the wildcard as the secondary as suggested.

I still get the call is forbidden by administrator.
Below is the inbound rule that was generated

Do you agents logged in to the Queue? Does the activity log show the call reaching the Queue?

When I dial the queue extension internally the call gets routed to the agents within the queue but when I dial the telephone number I get call forbidden by Administrator. See event log:

There are no blacklisted IP addresses listed and the sip trunk is registered

Hi @YiannisH_3CX, just got off the phone with the service provider and they only provide one number per trunk and no DID services.
Thanks for your assistance.

Glad to see the issue has been resolved and thank you for updating the thread.
