I encountered strange behaviour of our softphones (EyeBeam). All of them are within local network.
When I put our 3cx server local IP address in the domain field, all softphones register properly, but they sometimes do not receive calls. When I put our public address there (3cx server is local with port forwarding from the router), everything works fine. Why do I have to put DNS name of the public IP there?
This is not critical, as everyting works fine with public dns name, but I'd like to understand why is that.
Regards,
Greg
