Hi there,

In my home setup I use a ring group for all the house members. We only use the mobile apps of 3CX. When a house member makes an external call with his mobile phone to the DID associated to the ring group (our landline) he will also call himself via 3CX, as he is also part of the ring group. This is annoying, how can this be fixed?

Happy to hear your solutions.

If the user dials the ring group number from the 3CX App, he would avoid ringing himself, as the Ring Group will only allow one call per member. So as this extension is already in use, it will not ring.

Correct! But in my situation the user dials the ring group from his external mobile number and not from the app. This happens when the user is outside, due to mobile data plan limits.

Unless you are able to "do something", using the incoming caller ID...caller ID from that mobile, only forwards to a ring group that does not contain the extension, on the originating mobile, then 3CX is functioning as intended.

Yes, I tried that! It seems like the DID I've set up is dominant over the CIDs, even though I pushed it below the CIDs. Do I need to remove to DID completely and set it to a * CID or something?

Do you have a number of DID's assigned to one phone line for home use? Is the mobile calling a DID, or a "main" number. If you only have one number, and it goes to a ring group, then you don't require any DID rules, the trunk can default to the ring group.

Thanks! That solved my problem ;)
