Solved External Calls from one extension fail

I am a novice user with a very simple (home) setup running on RaspberryPi and three sip trunks /external numbers (from voipfone). I can make and receive external calls from two of them but not on the third. Internal calls (even remote ones via voipfone) all work fine
When making external calls on this number I get a fast busy tone and the management console shows: Target endpoint for [number called] can not be built!
This same number receive external calls just fine

Any ideas please?

Hi,

Your outbound rules can affect who is allowed to make calls.

That would be a good starting point, and remember that at least one condition must match before you can dial. The fact that the other extensions are allowed, does not mean that this one should also be allowed.

Thankyou. I had a rule called 'voipfone home' which I expected to apply to this external number and extension - in order to apply to a voipfone number that is not plugged into 3CX at all. It had som strip and prepend digits. However I seem to have misunderstood how this works because when I removed those parameters it all works fine. The off net voipfone numbers still work without it - but now the outgoing calls also work fine.
I guess this is much about how voipfone works as it is about 3CX...

Are these 3 numbers (DIDs), on one trunk, or 3 trunks (individual routes in 3CX)?
If it is 3 individual 3CX trunks, then selecting an outbound route might be best accomplished by using a prefix for each, unless you only use some routes for specific types of calls.

If it is one trunk group, with 3 numbers, from your provider, then all outbound calls route over the same trunk, the only option you will have is changing the caller ID (option per extension) , if allowed.

Thanks again. Its 3 trunks from one provider. However all seems to be working fine now without any prefixes or anything
