Hi All,

I have an issue with outbound calling to external numbers. The error is below:

Call to T:Line:10000>>phonenumber@[Dev:sip:[email protected]] from L:5.1[Extn:100] failed, cause: Cause: 403 Forbidden (check from field)/INVITE from 217.10.79.23:5060

What I can spot on that error, is the external IP Address is incorrect 217.10.79.23:5060 we have a different static.

Internal Calls work,
External Calls work.
Voicemail etc works.
Just not able to dial out.

The result is the same if I use a Softphone, WebClient or Physical phone.

I did notice someone had a similar error before, but I can't see the answer on the topic. And its from 2018.

I am pretty sure its related to that IP Address, but I have no idea where, or how to resolve this problem. Has anyone encountered this problem before or have any troubleshooting tips?

Thanks

Hi @Casey03

Does the 217.10.79.23 address happen to belong to your SIP trunk provider? If so then your call is reaching your provider but gets rejected by them. In that case you should contact them and ask them why is your call being rejected. They might want the number in a different format or in a different SIP header.

Hi @YiannisH_3CX

That is a very valid question!

Doing an A Record look up, I can see that IP Address does in fact belong to the SIP Provider. I will ask them regarding the call rejection.

Thanks

It could be the number format that you are sending, but, it may be the caller ID, you are sending, that they do not like. Be sure you are not sending an invalid caller ID, in some cases, one that is not supplied by your provider.

Hi,

I was able to resolve the issue using this document https://teamhelp.sipgate.co.uk/hc/en-gb/articles/115005174309-Configuring-3CX-SIP-Trunks I am only using Basic and the document is for Teams, but it did the job.

At the bottom there is a note
Note/Tip - Outbound Call parameter set up with sipgate trunking

on the “SIP trunk” config page, in the outbound parameters tab, the "User" from field should be set to use: “AuthID” as authentication type

That has appeared to resolve the issue for me.

Thanks

Glad to see you were able to resolve the issue and thank you for updating the thread with your solution so others can benefit from it.
