External ringtone, time on screensaver, button tone,...

I'm having several issues with our Yealink T46S phones.
I want to change the ringtone for external calls. I've found these threads:

One claims it's not possible, the other one doesn't. The options in the phone provisioning tab only seem to affect internal and queue call ringtones. How is it possible that such a default feature is not implemented? Do I need to use custom templates for this?
I cannot even select the ringtone on the phone itself, it still uses the default disgusting one, ;-)
By the way similar to the softclient - why is there no option for different ringtones?

after provisioning again, the red Yealink led is blinking all the time. Usually it only does this to alert of new calls or messages. I know that there as a bug long time ago, and I fixed it with setting the appropriate setting in a custom template. However I'm using the default templates now and this seems to work - but only after restarting the phone.

I also know that these features have been requested long time ago, so it's slightly frustrating that even basic functionality is still missing. The firmware is 66.86.0.5, so the last 3cx approved one.

I would not call them issues based on your description, it's more like personal preferences or extra options that are not customizable by what the default 3CX config page has:

1. The external ringtone is hardcoded into the template. The only way to change that is by using a custom template.

It's possible that the T46S shows the time on the screensaver. But after reprovisioning that setting is gone again.

2. If it gets overwritten by reprovisioning then you will again need to go with a custom template.

I dont want button tones. After reprovisioning, that setting is gone again.

3. Same as above

the red Yealink led is blinking all the time

4. During the provisioning phase, this light will blink until provisioning is done (might take upto a minute).

For normal operations though, it can be disabled entirely with this option (so no vmail or missed call blinking):




There are no further plans to modify the above behaviors or add extra customizations, so if you want to change them you can create custom templates that modify the behaviors (such as button tones, external ring, screensaver type) to your liking.

I’m certain that many users would appreciate such features, but it’s also good to know that no such plans exist and that custom templates should be used instead.

Is it possible to change the ringtone of the new windows 3cx client?

Not at the moment, but we are still developing it so features can be added as we go along.

I've also notived that the Yealink BLF lights don't show the status of other users. They turn red, if another user is making a call, but I'd consider it logical if they also indicate if that user is not available. Is that possible?

has anything changed since then? PERSONALLY I wouldn't mind if the "in use" status is used on Yealink phones to indicate that the other phone is not available. This could be implemented as an optional setting in 3cx. However a separate "DND" status would be better, I have no idea whether Yealink supports this though.

Hello,

What you are referring to is called 3CX Presence, and is only available for 3CX clients so it cannot be done on the phones.

Presence
A custom built feature that only works with 3CX clients and can show Extension Call State and 3CX Status as well as custom status messages.

BLF
A standard SIP feature for hardware phones, which only monitors Extension Call State (idle / busy / ringing)

It would be nice if you could implement this. I've seen that there are feature requests dating back to 2016 and older regarding this.
Yealink has confirmed that the functionality would be possible and other PBX offer it, e.g. Auerwald.
