Hello,

I have two 3CX servers one in the 3CX cloud (active) and the other in LightSail (passive). Both on Enterprise licenses.

I have it setup to monitor the SIP connection only and when I disable the service on the primary I see the passive becomes the primary. Issue is that the extension I have provisioned to the app on the primary on my cell phone shows green when clicking the hamburger menu but on the main app screen just sits at connecting.. and never connects even if I wait 10+ minutes.
However If I call the number the app rings and I can click answer and it looks as if i am on the call, but the desk phone (completely different PBX) continues to ring.

I don't see that scripts ARE required and step 8 fomr the belwo link reads:
"Press OK to save the configuration and start monitoring. When the active server (#1) fails, the passive detects this and takes over. With the backup already restored, the failover action triggers the 3CX DNS Servers to update the FQDN to the IP address of the new active server (#2). It is important that the previously active server (#1) is shutdown to avoid conflict with the server that just took "

https://www.3cx.com/docs/failover/

If I manually shut down all the services that it allows me to in the 3CX hosted server, and even restart ALL services on the passive server after it when it springs into action, the DNS still never resolves on the app never changes to "Ready for calls".

If scripts are required (which is not made clear) then how would I setup the failover with the SSH instructions in the ReadMe.txt provided with the Linux scrips it links to download in step 7 if I don't have SSH creds for the 3CX hosted server? From the sounds of that. 3CX handles that access?

Hi, How did you enable failover on 3CX Hosted systems, please?

The link I posted above.

Is that not supposed to work that way? Does a 3CX hosted system not support failing over in the case of an issue with Digital Ocean?

WIth 3cx hosted instances, you can not enable failover. This feature is disabled.

Can I ask why it is disabled? No service can guarantee a 100% uptime (I've seen companies guarantee 99.9 uptime and that not being the case) and this isn't mentioned in the failover document or the 3CX hosted document or FAQ. We are in a 24/7 healthcare business and the bosses want a failover plan.

Is there a refund option in regard to things like this for the hosted part of the licensing so we can remove our instance from the 3CX cloud?

Oh, and I enabled in on the passive server as I thought something was incorrect as this was a first-time failover setup on my end. I think someone dropped the ball on preventing that if it's a feature that's not supposed to work that way.

On the passive I pointed it to the 3CX hosted and when I kill the SIP service the LightSail hosted server enables all it's services and stops services on the 3CX hosted as I would expect being the first-time I've attempted a failover setup. The little red circle icon switches to green. and I can see the call coming through on fail-overed-to server. When i switch the LightSail server back to passive the 3CX hosted one comes back online.

The feature list for 3CX Enterprise shows there is a checkmark for the failover per said Enterprise license.

If this is not available for 3CX hosted systems, then it should be noted that feature is not included on a 3CX hosted server as they both technically do not share the same features as specified 3CX feature page in regard to features for price paid.
