Hosted with 3CX - Explained

3CX hosting frees your time and resources as we manage your 3CX system for you.

  • We deploy your instance to cloud provider DigitalOcean and automatically configure firewall rules.

  • We manage 3CX and the operating system, including security patches and version upgrades (i.e. from Debian 10 to Debian 12)

  • We take nightly backups.
  • We keep your 3CX on the latest non-beta update.
  • We monitor your 3CX system 24/7.

3CX’s hosted service is provided by DigitalOcean that has 15 data centers worldwide and hosts over 78 million computing instances. Their SLA time is 99.99%. Please note that during system updates, i.e. upgrading to a newer version, your system may experience limited downtime. We will, however, inform you before taking any action.

Switching to Hosted

New customers can select between 3CX SMB - Small Business for less than 20 users and 3CX Hosted for a dedicated instance and above 20 users whilst initiating the 3CX trial.

Existing on-premise and private cloud installations can switch to hosted directly from the customer portal. Simply click on “Switch to Hosted” under “My Systems” and follow the steps. Read the manual here for more information on how to migrate. You can purchase a migration support ticket at any time in case of any issues.

3CX's hosting service is available in over 50 countries.

Support

What we will support:

  • Issues deploying the service via the Customer Portal.

  • Connectivity issues to/from the service (excluding STUN IP-Phones).

  • Issues relating to 3CX FQDNs, 3CX SMTP Service and 3CX Video Conferencing.

  • Investigate any crashes on the system.

  • On customer request, a restoration to a previous restore-point (backup).

  • Patch management.

  • Requests to terminate a hosted instance.

  • OS management.

What we do not support:

  • General configuration of 3CX such as extensions and CRM integration.
  • Provisioning and operation of SIP Trunks.

  • Configuration and management of IP Phones.

For such issues please contact your partner or open a support ticket.

Requirements / Limitations

  • IP phones must be configured behind a 3CX SBC or router phone. Consider using 3CX Apps instead for seamless remote working!

  • You cannot use CFD (Call Flow Designer) apps.

  • It is recommended to use a supported, registration-based SIP trunk provider (see how to check).
  • You will not get SSH access to the machine – all operating system management is done by 3CX.

  • We do not support IP-Phones which are connected via STUN to a hosted instance. All IP-Phones must be connected using the 3CX SBC or a router phone.
