Fanvil Template - LLDP default's to false??

Why does the default Fanvil template disable LLDP?

Is this an oversight by the team managing the templates? Makes provisioning Fanvil phones in some environments a total nightmare, its set to true in templates for all other brands.

LLDP by default is enabled in all Fanvil base firmware, provisioning through 3cx disables LLDP and drops the handsets from their VLAN (unless I manually provision every handset, changing the LLDP option).

CDP/LLDP isn't the only way to get a VLAN to the phone - I recommend using the DHCP option here: https://www.fanvil.com/Uploads/Temp/download/20180920/5ba383b56c3ef.pdf - page 11

Yealink, polycom, etc do the same thing.

Thanks for the reply.

I understand it is not the only method, obviously, but in some cases you have to meet the criteria of a vendor or customer. That article covers issues regarding CDP, whilst not ideal I've had to modify the default templates for now.

I don't think I've come across any brand of modern handset that has LLDP disabled out of the box

P.S. Yealink, Grandstream etc have lldp enabled by default in 3cx templates.

I usually assume anything that applies to CDP will apply to LLDP and vis versa but maybe not in this case. I'll leave this for someone else to answer.

I've never ran into an issue where I couldn't set a DHCP option (a NTP server, Option 66, and more) but I can understand sometimes you are restricted.
