Fanvil X4U Firmware update failed / not starting

Hello.

I have bought a FANVIL X4U that I want to use with a hosted 3CX, I did the firmware update to version 2.4.12 which I downloaded from the 3CX website. I did the update using the IP of the phone from a web browser.

After updating I did a factory reset and now the phone won't start, it just gets stuck on the screen that shows the 3CX logo and doesn't move forward from there.

Is there a way to change the firmware again without the phone having booted? Or to do a manual reset?

Hi,

Restart the phone, and wait for the MWI to turn on, then off.
As soon as it turns on again, press “#” immediately.
You should see the message POST Mode
Press *168 and the phone should reset.


If this does not work for you, please contact Fanvil support directly - this is not normal behavior for the phone.

I wanted to try this after reading some other posts, The phone does not have a button or switch to restart or turn off and on. When I unplug the power and then plug it back turns the MWI once and never goes off then shows the 3CX screen while the MWI is still on, not moving from there.

I am contacting Fanvil, Will post the answer I get from them,

Good plan, it looks like a hardware fault from your description.

They may be able to instruct you to re-flash it, but if not then I suppose it should be covered by warranty.
