Hello,

On version 15.5 with the latest X5S firmware, we could begin typing a contacts name (on the number pad of the phone), and the phone would search and display a list of matching contacts as you typed. This partially works in v16, but appears to only search numbers, not the letters in the contact name, which makes it not nearly as useful for our employees. This happens after we have upgraded the firmware on our FanvilX5s from version 1.8 to 1.12.

Is this something I can turn on in the Fanvil X5s settings or 3CX template, or is it something related to the firmware that just needs to be re-added back or fixed in a later update?

Regards.

Hi Sam,

If you press contacts and start typing this should start loading the names as expected.

Confirmed to work on V16 Update 4 on FW version 1.12.5

If this does not work for you, please try to factory reset a phone, and reprovision it using our default templates (not custom).

If the contacts list is populated, then the search should work.

I have factory reset the phone. The issue still persists. This happens for all our fanvil phone. Now I am unable to downgrade the firmware.

Hi Sam,

Can you confirm that you have the latest 3CX updates and that you are not using a custom template?

I am using the version 16.0.273. Will try to upgrade to v16 Update2.

You must be on update 1 now then I suppose.

Our latest update 4 should take you up to 16.0.4.493, make sure you check the updates again when done (in case you have any pending firmware or template updates that appear after the upgrade)

I have updated my 3CX to 16.0.493. I have reset one of my fanvil X5s to factory default and I am still experiencing the same issue.

Hi Sam,

Just confirm, are you pressing "Contact" then "Search" buttons, and then you start typing letters using the keypad?

Does the button that selects the typing mode say "Abc" or does it say "123" ?

No. I hookup the phone and start typing the name the same way I will type an extension.

I have to downgrade the phone to 1.8 for them to work.
