I want to transfer a few of my phones and would like to factory reset them. I've tried performing a factory reset via:

Each time, the phone reboots. I re-join it to the network and prompts me for my user name and password. In the GUI it still has System->Auto Provision->Static Provisioning Server.

I've even tried setting:
  • Server Address = 0.0.0.0
  • Configuraiton File Name = ""
  • Protocol Type = TFTP
  • Update Mode = Disabled
It just keeps bringing back the old settings. Frustrated and out if ideas. Guessing this is something simple and I'm missing a step.

Thanks,

- Chris

That's because of the RPS entry, and everytime you save the user's extension with the phone in it set to STUN, it refreshes the entry.

You'll need to ask 3CX to remove the MAC address from their RPS, or wait 7 days (I think) after the last entry refresh.

Thanks - Actually pretty cool technology.

STUN/RPS is covered in this video and the period is 2 weeks from the last refresh:

That being said, if you add the phone to the customers 3CX instance, it will overwrite the entry to point it to their instance assuming it will be STUN for them as well.

14 days then. Good to know. I think it used to be 7 or something like that, or maybe my memory is messing up numbers lol
