i have a Lexmark T632 connected to a pap2. the machine dials it machines the tones. i show it connected through my VOIP. but it drops the calls. few mins even though the fax is trying to go through.

when i had it routed through my PSTN line. i could fax with no problems. but now it's going through my VOIP line. and it gets droped.

Fax and VoIP don't play well together. There are a number of settings in different VoIP the devices that can increase the chance that it may work, but there is no guarantee. If you are using a PSTN line, then, if you can't get it to work, plug the fax machine directly into the line. Many VoIP providers don't support fax.

ya and that's a problem. I can't even get the 3cx fax server to work right.

it worked last night it called my cell phone and that's it.

if this fax server was setup i could email to it and it would fax out. that would work great

I am now trying to use my 3102 for it. since i find stuff on 3cx that says it works.

the fax dial it makes the tones. soon as it does the VOIP line drops

this is all the logs say

If you do a search on the net, there are a number of sites dedicated to getting fax working over VoIP. Because there are so many variables involved (including the make of your fax machine) There is no guarantee that it will work even with identical hardware but a different provider/house wiring/ distance from central office, etc.

A lot of this just involves time consuming trial and error.
