Fax Templates

Two things:
1) it would be nice to be able to specify the TEMPLATE to use when sending fax to email (different template per extension)

2) respect the “From:” field in the fax Template

The Fax email template is available for editing in the Advanced menu of 3CX.



This template will be used when you receive a fax through the Fax server extension, or a Fax Forward to the email of a user.

I understand where the ONE (and only) FAX template IS, but as the documentation (somewhere) says, the FROM address is NOT used.

What I'm wanting, is to be able to specify a DIFFERENT FROM (display name) for EACH Extension receiving/processing a fax (delivering to the specified email corresponding to the extension).

What I'd LIKE to see, is something like: "###.fax.template" or "###.email.template" naming convention, so that IF there is a "custom" template for any given extension (the "###" above), THAT would be used. If there IS no "custom" template, then the "standard" template is used.

In ALL cases, I'd like the FROM address (if populated) to be respected (used).

The FROM field is an email address that sends the email. This is just a placeholder just so there is a "sender" of the email.

The fax email template has all the necessary details a user would need to see where the fax came from.

That is certainly true for how it works, TODAY.

For the sake of discussion, let us say that we have two (to keep it simple) Customer Service fax lines: 1) for Product Info; 2) for Feature Enhancement Requests.

We want ONE email inbox for ALL Customer Service faxes, BUT we want to be able to FILTER those emails (faxes) by "sender" (the above "categories").

Currently, not only can this not be done, but the "FROM" field in the template is NOT used (why?).
