Feature matrix confusion

Hey,

It's been a while since I last used my 3CX website login (under my personal email address)... and I thought I'd use it to take a look at how things have changed (as my employer is an ISP that does VoIP systems and is curious... so it's easier to try it this way quickly as they don't have an account... yet). It's not for anything production, just to look at the UI and place a few test calls.

Upon logging back in on the website... I had no systems, so I was asked to make a new system and was faced with this choice...

So I have chosen '3CX (Dedicated)' and after that I picked the 4SC FREE tier. However it's interesting that this screen says SMB will only work with 3CX apps/softphone and the Dedicated doesn't say it has that limitation...

But on the comparison chart...

It indicates 'SIP Phones' are possible on the '3CX SMB' but not on the '4SC FREE'... which is the opposite way around?

Am I right in thinking this tick is in the wrong place?

Thanks

3CX has said SMB features will change to be like Free so I think it's all in process.

OK but the tick for 'SIP Phones' is on SMB not 4SC... not the other way around?

I'd understand if the 'SIP Phones' tick was on 4SC and not SMB... and later on they'll be adding a tick also to SMB for the same feature?

Neither Free nor SMB will have SIP phone support. I do not know at what point that will change for SMB which historically has allowed desk phones. See this blog post, which is talking about 4SC (Basic) Free in that paragraph, per other threads.

AH... ok? So I guess that 2-pane choice screen is up to date when it says 3CX apps only, but the feature matrix needs a tick removing then.

I think it confused me because I'm running a 4SC now (installed yesterday) and it's letting me add an IP phone. So I'm guessing this is only temporary? That it is somehow technically licensed for 4SC but maybe has 'Pro' features enabled on a trial basis or something? Is there anything in the Admin section of the 3CX instance that shows the trial-portion of the license and what is left?

This is so confusing,
I was looking to fire up an SMB instance as we need at least a single SIP connection for the yard walkabout that any of the employees can answer.
It is fully advertised as having that ability and you say they are going to take it away? If they already know that then why is it still advertised, feels a bit of a bait and switch situation.
If it's going to change at any point soon then this should really be updated now, so as to set the correct expectations (and reduce all the queries to here asking where the functionality went when people can no longer use it).

We only have 3 dedicated extensions and the yard general 1. :(
