We’ve made 3CX SMB even easier to access by streamlining how it’s managed. SMB is designed to be an easy-to-use solution and we want our user experience to reflect that simplicity. We’re removing unnecessary steps and making the overall experience more straightforward by consolidating management within the Admin Console.

This blog answers 3CX Community questions explaining what’s changing, who is affected and what options are available going forward. Read on to learn more.

Customer Portal Account No Longer Required

Users with SMB FREE keys will no longer have access to the 3CX Portal. When attempting to log in to 3CX Portal, they will see a “Subscription Required” message indicating that a Self Managed or 3CX Hosted subscription is required. License and system management for SMB users remain available via the Admin Console.

Who Still Has Portal Access?

The following license holders will continue to have access:

  • SMB PRO key users: Customers using SMB PRO keys will retain full access to the portal as before.
  • 4SC Basic key users: Users on 4SC Basic keys will have portal access. This ensures they can manage their license and proceed with upgrades where required.

Deleting Your Account

For SMB users wishing to delete their portal account, a “Delete My 3CX Account” option will be available when attempting to log in to the 3CX Portal. This allows account removal directly, without the need to contact the 3CX DPO.

License Change: Revert To 3CX Basic

With the advent of 3CX Basic Edition we will begin scaling back 3CX SMB Free. This means in the not-too-distant future the SMB license will be downgraded to Basic. Important to note, if you’re using IP phones you will no longer be able to rely on the free 3CX SMB edition.

What If I Want To Keep Using IP Phones?

If you want to keep using IP phones you will be guided to select a 3CX Partner in a newly created partner directory limited to those partners with a PRO or Ent/AI multi-tenant. This is currently being worked on. Watch this space for more details.

Alternatively, you can choose a VoIP provider that offers multi-tenant already bundled with their SIP trunk.
