Feature Request: Debian ARM64 Image

Hi 3CX

Can you please consider providing a Debian image that uses the ARM64 architecture.

There are number of reasons why you'd do this, namely:

• ARM64 is a more energy efficient architecture
• Cloud providers generally offer ARM64 at a lower cost than AMD and Intel platforms, due to the lower operational costs
• The image could be deployed with 1 CPU core, 6GB RAM, 46GB block storage on the Oracle Cloud Always Free tier, which you consider to be unsupported, which should likely be a feature request of its own. Please consider that while Amazon is the market leader, Oracle's product is outstanding and has a business model of providing better capacity at a lower cost than their competitors

Hi Pete,

Arm64 is an architecture that is on our radar and we have already done some testing on it, however we would need to fully test all aspects of our software to ensure 100% everything is OK.

While we don't currently have a time frame, as a "relative" pointer, once the RPi's official OS is switched to a 64-bit Debian (at the time of writing, even RPi4 which is 64-bit hardware runs on a 32-bit OS), this is will probably speed things up in this direction, if we haven't released it by then.

As you very correctly said, this technically is a Feature Request and should be opened in "Ideas", however I should share some information about it, before closing the thread.
