I'm just getting into making some changes since the v20 upgrade and having some issues.

I found out that the welcome email is under the reset option, but does the reset option for a change or make it optional?

I needed to edit several extensions since I have to use a unique email, but I also had to manually edit "Your link name". Is there a way to mass set that or use a default until changed? Along with this, I tried an export so I could edit that in a spreadsheet and then import, but didn't see a field for it.

Is there a way to mass edit roles (as in adding users? I could figure out doing in manually.

Any changes to a user do not require you to reset their account. A user doesnt even need to have you reset their password if they lost access to it. They can just click on "forgot password" enter their email, and reset their own password.

When creating new users the talk link is automatically created based on the name and surname of the users.

No, you cannot mass edit the roles, but in Update 3 (which just landed today as an ALPHA release) you can mass edit most of the functions of a user.

⚠ Important: The Alpha version should be installed for evaluation purposes only. It is not recommended for production systems yet.

All great information. Thank you!

The only issue on the talk link is the 100 existing users that I already have. I did notice that new users it automatically gets created but any time I need to edit a user, then I have to enter the talk link.

Note the admin user reset also resets software clients, phone, etc. so you may want to use the forgot password option and enter the user’s email.

That's crazy. The funny thing is that I don't want to reset anything. I just want to send a welcome email... What the heck is 3CX doing?

The welcome email is sent to the user when their extension is created with the link to create their password and all the necessary information they need, for example, their extension number, voicemail PIN etc.

In update 3, you will also be able to disable the 3CX talk links with a simple check box. In the meantime, you can either define it as their name, ot just put klfjdkfgkdlfgkdlfjgdkljgldkjgldjg random characters.

Then dont reset anything. Have the user click on forgot password. This will ONLY reset the web client password and no other passwords.

What the heck is 3CX doing?
Making it easier for the admin, and not needing to intervene for something as trivial as resetting a user's password.

You're missing the whole point of the thread. If they lost or can't fine their welcome email, what happens? The password thing is really irrelevant to this whole conversation. That's just the only way I have seen to get new information to the user.

So ignore password resets and tell me how to get that same information to the user without the "Send Welcome Email" button...

Go to the users page, select the user and click Reset.

That will resend the welcome email, with the new information.

That is what I did. It's just not clear what that actually does. There is no mention of a welcome email, which is why I asked exactly what the the resets do and is how the passwords came into the conversation.'

Thanks for your help.
