Finishing Installation .... 11%

Hey,
Just installing 3cx for first time so please be gently. I am installing the latest debian 9 iso onto a vmware hypervisor. Have set required hardware specs and have followed this guide

After I select 1 for GRUB and 2 for /dev/sda/ i get Finishing Installation ... 11% and then nothing
If I reboot, it boots into the GUI but I cannot login to check logs as I am assuming it does not end up setting the root password
Any Ideas please? Known issue ?

Does the virtual machine have internet access ?

Are you using the 3CX ISO image to install ?

yes using the iso debian-amd64-netinst-3cx.iso
It does have the internet....saw DHCP give it an IP and i can ping the server
Just tried a different mirror for other packages but no change

What do you mean you selected 1 for GRUB? it automatically boots, the only thing you need to be doing is going through the installation wizard. Is your VM Gen 1?

Did you do a graphical install?

its part of the install wizard. Hypervisor is esxi 6.7 PO3. Chose install wizard when cd booted

This does not appear anywhere when using our latest ISO, so I'm not really sure how you ended up there

Delete the VM and start again?

a) This is the first screen, you should get this and then hit enter on "Install"


b) you should then be in this environment wit the installation under way

okay, i was choosing install with speech synthesis cause it sounded like that one included TTS
Done it via the first option and very different procedure with less options - seems to be going well
