Firewall upgrades > SBC > 3CX

Hello. i am just wondering.
As we are planning to do an upgrade to our firewall, so it will be disconnected from internet which includes the SBC behind. our 3CX instance is in Azure.
Will the extensions still works? or it always has to be connected to 3CX?

Like local extension to local extensions?

All extensions will always need to register and talk to their PBX. If they cannot talk to the PBX then they become unregistered. Think of a DECT phone. No base, no work.

It's as kieferschild says, once the 3CX SBC loses connection with the 3CX PBX, the IP Phones will deregister and hence cease to work. The 3CX SBC proxies the IP Phone's connection to the PBX, it is not independent.
