I have set up forwarding from my cell phone to a DID but it gets blocked by 3CX, any ideas?

From cell to PBX is the issue, not PBX to cell.

Blocked, in what t way...just rings, a message, call goes to another destination? Does forwarding work to numbers other than your DID? What is the 3CX Activity Log showing for the call, what error message?

I talked with my SIP provider, they told me the call was rejected by the pbx. nothing shows in the logs.

If the call is presented to 3CX, then there will be something in the log showing an Invite for the call. What does the caller hear when calling your mobile number? A recording?

you get a recording saying this is not a working number, nothing in the logs, SIP provider gave me a trace but I'm not sure how to read it.

If it is a recording from a provider, and it sounds as if it is, then I suspect that the forwarded number you are using (have entered) is not correct. Try changing it to your company's main business number, and see if that works. I assume that you are successfully able to dial the DID directly, from your mobile.

Below is part of the trace, I think I removed all personal details.

Is this the 3CX Activity Log? So 3CX is getting the call? Did you try forwarding to another number, your main business number or another DID? You don't have your 3CX extension forwarded right back to your mobile do you? What you've posted seems to be incomplete as there is no final termination.

now I'm getting this in 3CX.

SIP Server/Call Manager ID: 12294
Call or Registration to 18135551212@(Ln.10000@Flowroute) has failed. xx.xx.xx.xx replied: 486 Busy Here; from IP:xx.xx.xx.xx:5060

That would indicate that 3CX is attempting an outgoing call, and the destination is busy. It is a pretty standard message. Why would an outgoing call be involved unless you have your extension forwarded to another number (back to your mobile perhaps?)

I can call the number and it rings for 20sec and goes to VM as it should.

again...have you tried using another DID, or your main business number, in place of your DID to see if you get the same behaviour?

Yes, I have used the main line and my DID, I have also tried this on 2 other 3CX systems, same result, so it has to be something 3CDX blocks but not sure where or how to stop it.

Hi @lutz

From the above, I'm not sure yet that the call reaches the PBX.

I suggest you run a capture and make the call.

In the capture you should see the provider's IP sending an INVITE to your PBX IP.

Then you should also be able to see what the PBX replies back to the provider and hopefully help you understand why.
