Under Forwarding Rules > Away I've set External Calls "If I am away forward external calls to:" "Forward to mobile". I've also checked the box for Accept calls from Ring Groups.
If I call that extension directly, the call is forwarded to my mobile as expected. However, if I call a ring group which this extension is a member of, the desk phone (Yealink T52S) rings instead of the call being forwarded to the mobile.
I've also tried unchecking the Accept calls from Ring Groups box but then the call doesn't ring that extension at all (which is what I expected).
How do I make calls from external numbers to a ring group, forward to the that members mobile as needed?

Call forwarding does not normally work when a call is from a ring group. The idea is that it is not a call that is "owned' by your extension, and being to a ring group, it is assumed that there is probably someone else that can take it.

However...there is an option ALLOWUSEBUSYOPTFORGROUP which can be changed to allow this. This change is not advised by 3CX as there could be unexpected consequences.

Have a read through...

Thanks for the response @leejor but that doesn't seem to help.
I'm thinking the scenario is a little different since I'm setting the status to Away and not actually on another call.
Is there some other process I should be using? Here's the situation.
There are 3 phones and incoming calls ring to all 3 (via a ring group). Most of the time there is only 1 employee present. She needs to run to lunch and wants calls forwarded to her mobile. I assigned a DSS key to change her status to Away as needed but that doesn't appear to work.

edit: ALLOWUSEBUSYOPTFORGROUP was set to 0 by default.

So I'm even more confused now. I assumed I could just activate call forwarding on the phone itself for now. I set Call Forwarding > Always Forward to enabled and added an external number (seems straight forward). It shows the forwarding indicator on my screen; however, calls directly to my DID (no ring group, queue, etc) still ring on my desk phone.
Yealink T52S 70.82.0.20
3CX 15.5.10244.4
Anyone else run into that?

Just in case it helps anyone else, here's what I found from 3CX support.
Using Call Forwarding on the phone itself isn't supported.
However, calls from Ring Groups can be forwarded using the Away status like I was originally attempting. I just had to set both Internal and External calls to Forward to Mobile (I was only setting it for external calls).

You have to look into changing the option i mentioned, or ring group calls will not follow forwarding rules. Have a look at the Activity Log for the failed direct to extension call, there may be something else not quite right.
You may want to consider the Ring my mobile at the same time option, as that will work on ring group calls.
