hello,
I bought a domain name and an SSL certificate from NAMECHEAP.
I don't have a fixed public address and I want to install 3CX using the domain name I bought from NAMECHEAP
I don't know how to do it
Thank you for your help

You can't use a custom FQDN and SSL with a Standard 3CX edition. You need Pro or Enterprise.

Also, if you bought a domain just for the 3CX, you just wasted money. 3CX FQDN are free and provides SSL free as well.

Changing your DNS everytime your WAN IP changes is going to be a fun admin task for you :D

Hi @wolfymed

From what I can see, I believe you have a Pro key, so you will have the option to use a Customer FQDN and your certificate.
kieferschild though is right, if you don't have a Static Public IP address, you will have to change manually update your own DNS records each time the Public IP of the PBX changes.

I think you should choose between the 2 options:
  • Talk to your ISP and change your Public IP to a Static one, then you can use your own Certificate/FQDN
or
  • Leave your Public IP as Dynamic and use a 3CX FQDN/Certificate, and leave 3CX to update your DNS records automatically whenever your IP changes.
