We have a Free Standard Annual 4SC On Premises system running as a VM which is apparently due to expire on 02/03/2024 (2nd March for US readers)
Have just upgraded to V20 i(n preparation for upgrading customer systems) and all is fine after a few issues to sort.
We were therefore expecting this license to extend as we have met all requirements for extension to end 2024 as far as I can see as per
"We’ll extend correctly registered 4SC FREE licenses until the end of 2024 as long as they’ve been upgraded to Version 20.
To prepare, please note the new requirements and upgrade information below:
On Premise installs require split DNS"
Assign a system owner

I can confirm we also meet the requirements
One subscription per customer account.
Each account must be registered with a unique email.
The license and the customer account must have the same email address.

This is getting a bit close to the wire!
Anyone else seeing this or have a comment?

As your 3cx licence is expiring on 2.3.2024 everything should be correct. Just wait for extending of your licence.

Can I confirm something with regards to this. I have a server where the license is expiring on the 2nd of March, everything is licensed and setup correctly but with the Version 20 proper release still looking like its not going to be here in time are we looking at servers expiring that are using Standard 4SC licenses before they can make the jump to Version 20?

If your license is correctly registered and on V20, it will be extended automatically.
Please refer to this discussion for more details.

Thanks Irina for the link, this is a relief, we definitely flying by wire with V20 final release though and scaring people about their Standard 4SC licenses. But end of 2024 ought to give us enough time for migration or upgrade.

Please keep in mind that the free edition subscriptions will only be available for Linux users.

Free subscriptions used for Windows installations (even if not on V20 yet) will be extended until July 2024, which gives time for the upgrade to the PRO edition or move to Linux.

Hi Irina, the installation is on a Linux server fully up to date with the latest version on Version 18 waiting for V20 final release to be available before I pull the trigger

Can I ask when the new date will show? Would it be possible for you to check the license key just incase?

@VernonShaw, our team is currently working around the clock on the release of the V20.

The free subscriptions will be extended prior to the current expiration date. You can check the expiry date in your 3CX portal after the 2nd of March.

Yes, we can check the license key for you. Please contact our customer service team using the license registration email address and we will assist you.

Fantastic thank you I will do. Its a shame that the expiration won't update before the existing timecode I'm sure many people's stress levels are going to be riding high over the next couple of weeks, thanks for the help

@VernonShaw, you can always consider the upgrade to a paid edition so that the subscription expiry is set to the exact date :)

Hi Irina, we have acquired a new paid license for the client. However we do not want the old registration details to move over to the new one as that email is associated with an individual who has long since left the company. Do you have any advice on how I can go about applying the new key with new registration details?

Update the details from the License page in the system...

When you hit replace license it shifts registration info over, accessing the account on that email isn't possible

I am aware. In v18/v20, you can go to the License page, click Edit (not replace), update the email for the registration from there, and then go ahead and replace the key.

The 3CX subscription ownership can be transferred from the admin console of the system:
  1. Log in and access Admin settings.
  2. Navigate to Buy > License settings > click Edit.
  3. Access License owner to Edit.
  4. Change the owner's email address or any other required details and click Save to apply the change to the system.

I hope the above helps.
