Hey all,

I am getting a message after provisioning an IP Phone via an SBC that says that the FW is not supported. The phone is a Yealink SIP-T46U. The current FW on the phone is 108.86.25.3 It is telling me I need to upgrade? to this lower version? 108.86.0.72. Pressing +firmware and applying it does not seem to do anything? I even tried manually updating it by downloading the firmware from the 3cx and logging into the phone via the IP and that did not work either. I am assuming that the phone will not downgrade if I try a lower version.

What do I need to do if anything to clear this status of not supported?

Regarding your question on clearing the error will be to make sure the phones are on the supported Firmware version of 108.86.0.72, which is for the latest supported version of 3cx, v18 sp4. Downgrading the firmware using the management console will not be possible, and if the phone is not taking the firmware directly via its web UI, you will need to contact Yealink support for further advice.

So I need to downgrade the firmware? Is that what you are saying? Maybe I will just wait for 3cx to catch up.

You will need to use the correct supported firmware, yes. It is not guaranteed that the next firmware version will be the one currently in use, and the likelihood is that it will not be. It is best to contact yealink support to assist you with this to ensure that the correct supported firmware is used to avoid any unpredicted behavior that the untested and incorrect firmware may result in.

IIRC from posts by 3CX, the third digit indicates custom OEM firmware. Above, it's 25 not 0. Did the phone come from somewhere else? (i.e. not a new retail-bought phone)

And yes 3CX will show the phone as unsupported if it's either higher or lower than the latest supported version. Sometimes it will work to downgrade but as I vaguely recall 3CX won't/can't do that if it's not normal firmware.

You might try updating it on the phone: https://www.3cx.com/sip-phones/firmware-update-yealink/

Are you encountering things not working fine on the phone? if not and you only get an unsupported firmware alert then let water under the bridge, one day it may become upto date xD

I have done that twice and did a factory reset once. I will reach out to Yealink tomorrow.
