FXO Gateway with hosted pbx

Does anyone know of a way to use a fxo gateway on a hosted pbx? I have mine hosted with aws if that helps

Some people have reported success, with some gateway models, if you search the forum. However, it is not supported, and unless you have a lot of experience with SIP, and networks, even with some time and effort, you may still not get it fully functioning. The advice offered to most, that ask about this, is to port the numbers over to VoIP.

We got our working using 3CX SBC and we're using Grandstream GXW410X
While our 3CX is hosted in Azure

Hi Spottyjarl,

As JCubio said, you can register the FXO gateway via 3CX SBC.

• Install 3CX SBC on the remote site.
• Add "Generic Gateway Device" in 3CX SIP Trunk section and enter the Gateway local IP address(Registrar/Server/Gateway Hostname or IP).
• In the gateway side use SBC IP as a "SIP registrar"

Note: This is workaround solution and not recommended by 3CX.

Just want to clarify that the only way to have an FXO Gateway connected to a Hosted 3CX PBX (NOT Hosted by 3CX) while also maintaining 3CX Support, is to make sure that both the below apply points:

1. Use a 3CX supported FXO Gateway.
2. Make local routing between the 3CX PBX and the FXO Gateway possible by utilizing a site-to-site VPN.

Note: For FXS Gateways(NOT FXO), there are some that are also supported with the 3CX SBC. It is mentioned in their provisioning guide if so.
