Hi

First let me say that i am new in telephony and in 3cx pbx system.
I have an samsung telephone system in headquarters and i want to use 3cx to have extentions over vpn in my branch office but i want to connect the 3cx
with the telephone system.
Can i do that and if yes how and what devices i need

Hi again

I was searching in google and i found a level one VOI-8002 8 FXO Port H.323/SIP VoIP Gateway that can connect in a pbx extension but it is not in the 3cx recommended gateways can someone help me with this.


Can anyone reccomend me a voip gateway that can i use?

AudioCodes MediaPack MP-118 FXO. The cost should be a little bit higher than Level one.

Please let us know which model and type (H323 or traditional PBX) for Samsung telephone system in headquarters.

Thanks for the reply. Ok i have two customers that i want to install 3cx one has a samsung pbx dcs 816 and the other one a panasonix tda 15.

Will AudioCodes MediaPack MP-118 FXO do the job?

Both of them want to use 3CX to replace their old phone system or integrate with them.

Using FXO gateway to integrated the old type PABX should be simple way method.

From 3CX extension can able direct call to any extensions at old PABX. However, from old type PABX extensions call to 3CX extensions need wait for instruction then dial the targeted 3CX extension number. That mean 2 stage dial.

Thats exactly what i want to do i want users to call both ways 3cx to old pabx
and old pabx to 3xc
And my question is with AudioCodes MediaPack MP-118 FXO can i do that? can i connect fxo ports to the extensions of the old pabx?

does anyone else done this?

The setting should be:


OLD PABX(office A) --- 8 x Hunted extensions--> FXO Gateway(office A)---> VPN to Office B --> 3CX BOX(Office B)
- Extension 801, 802, .... and 808 for OLD PABX to FXO Gateway
- FXO Gateway registered to 3CX BOX at Office B
- Outbound rule 81 for 3CX BOX to access FXO gateway at office A
- Config DR "Please dial extension number" at 3CX for answer all call from FXO gateway(Office A)

Done-> Dial String as below:
3CX extension to OLD PABX EXT 701
- Dial 81701

3CX extension to OLD PABX EXT 702
- Dial 81702
..
..
3CX extension to OLD PABX EXT 7XX
- Dial 817XX
--------------------------------------------
OLD PABX extension to 3CX EXT 301
- Dial 801, then wait for 3CX DR "Please dial extension number" => key in 301

OLD PABX extension to 3CX EXT 302
- Dial 801, then wait for 3CX DR "Please dial extension number" => key in 302
..
..
OLD PABX extension to 3CX EXT 3XX
- Dial 801, then wait for 3CX DR "Please dial extension number" => key in 3XX
