Hi,

My contact has the sip address of the form
sip:name@domain
e.g. sip:[email protected]

How I can call him with 3CX Phone ?

Regards,

If you are trying to place a direct SIP call to them you will have to build a new trunk group that goes to "domain.com". then because you can t dial john.smith from a regular phone, you will have to create an outbound rule that will strip some digits that you do dial nag add on john.smith before sending it out on the new trunk group that you created.

Of course this become cumbersome if there are a lot of contacts at a lot of domains, but for one or a few, it should work.

Thank you for the answer.

Could you be so kind and point me to a reading where I can learn
- how to build a new trunk group that goes to "domain.com"
- how to create the outbound rule you mention in your answer.

Regards

Sorry, I should have paid closer attention to the forum that I was in... :(

You cannot do direct SIP calls with the 3CX phone, unless it has been added in the most recent version and I hadn't heard about it.

You'd have to run it as an extension off the 3CX PBX. The PBX would allow a direct SIP call adding the name as required.

3CX Phone does not compete to the SIP clients which allow to make a call to any URL at any time.
