For the past day or so, we've had a call queue receive ghost calls from multiple external numbers. There is no DID or Inbound Rule pointing to this call queue. The queue was setup a couple years ago, but never used as we opted to handle calls via a ring group instead.

I'm trying to figure out what is triggering this queue to ring. In reality I could delete the queue because it's not in use, but I'm concerned because it has been ringing regularly today and I'm trying to figure out why before deleting it.

Reviewing the call log, I see the external numbers hitting the queue, but don't know what number they are dialing to get there. The extensions connect to a cloud instance via VPN and login outside of LAN is denied.

Any help resolving this is appreciated.

Review the activity log to see how the calls are getting in.

Thank you for the reply. I have reviewed the activity log but it didn’t reveal much.
ive enabled verbose logging in hopes it will provide more info. And will follow up, the next time it happens. (Which should be tomorrow)

I found the queue in question was assigned to the sip trunk in the "general settings" of the sip trunk. As I understand it, when there is no inbound rule or did assigned to a queue, 3cx will route according to the settings defined in this section for the sip trunk. Originally (3 years ago) we were going to use a queue, but opted instead for ring groups and this never got cleaned up. The activity log wasn't showing me the number these spam / ghost calls were dialing in to, but I was able to retrieve from the sip provider. It was a spare DID not currently be used by us but assigned to our trunk.

Thanks again cobaltit for responding.
