Google Contacts Integration

We are trying to integrate our 3CX with Google Contacts as described in https://www.3cx.com/docs/google-contacts-crm-integration/ but that option
does not appear in the 3CX app for Windows (“Advanced Settings” > “Integration”).

On the System Requirements it is specified we need to have 3CX v15 PRO edition so I presume we are ok because our version is more recent (we are running on 16.0.1581).

Thanks for your quick reply. Some questions:

• Is it your plans do re-integrate it in future releases?
• Any suggestion on how to overcome this situation?
• Should we evaluate the possibility of downgrading our version? (that I suppose will be against our technical team advice because v16 has several improvements)

Currently, I cannot give you a strict reply if we are planning to do some kind of integration with Google Contacts.

One suggestion is to replicate the contacts of Google with an SQL table. This will require some coding, in order to export contacts and import them on SQL. If you have them on SQL, then you can use the SQL Server-Side integration that is available on v16.

Another option that is more limited is to export the contacts as CSV from Google, format them as per PBX requirements and import them. This approach will not provide you with Call Journaling functionality.

You can also give it a try and create a Server Side template with the use of the CRM Template Generator Tool. We've posted also a video on how to use the Wizard Approach.

Definitely moving back to v15.5 is not an option, as you well said based on the feature set. We give various approach to our customers in order to give the 3CX to the next level.

After reading your reply I have seen that 3CX has more clients, like us, looking for a way to integrate with Google Contacts (and some of them even lost that ability when they upgraded to v16). Do you know if any of them have developed one of theses alternatives? Sorry to insist but this really was one of the features that made us choose 3CX.

Unfortunately, I do not have input if someone managed to integrate with Google Contacts. As I said in my previous response, we do provide a number of ways to do this kind of integrations. At the moment Google Contacts is not provided as part of our platform.
